Terms of Service & League Rules Agreement

Please read this Terms of Service & League Rules Agreement ("Agreement") carefully before registering for the Thumb Area BCA Pool League. By checking the registration agreement box, submitting your membership form, or participating in any league-sanctioned match, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. Membership Eligibility and Registration

• Amateur Status: The Thumb Area BCA Pool League is an amateur sports league. Players must fulfill all registration requirements and pay relevant sanctioning and league fees to be eligible for play.


• Local Scope: This league operates out of Capac, Michigan, and services players within the Thumb area of Michigan (including Sanilac, St. Clair, Lapeer, Tuscola, and Huron counties).


• Accurate Information: You agree to provide true, current, and accurate registration info, including your legal name and contact details. Falsifying identity or skill levels may result in immediate disqualification.

2. BCA Sanctioning and Official Rules

• Governing Body: As an official league sanctioned by CueSports International (CSI), all matches, team configurations, scoring systems, and handicaps comply with the official BCA Pool League regulations and CSI rulesets.


• Stat Tracking: By participating, you acknowledge and agree that your match scores, player statistics, skill handicaps, and event outcomes will be recorded publicly on our website and reported to CSI to maintain national rating databases.

3. Player Code of Conduct

To foster community and fair play, all players must adhere to the following standards during league events:

• Sportsmanship: Treat all league operators, teammates, opposing players, and host venue staff with mutual respect.


• Prohibited Behavior: Verbal abuse, physical threats, cheating, intentional disruption of play, or property damage at host venues will not be tolerated and are grounds for point forfeiture, suspension, or permanent expulsion from the league.


• Venue Rules: Players must respect the specific house policies of any hosting billiard hall, bar, or community establishment where matches occur.

4. Fees, Payments, and Refund Policy

• League Dues: All team and individual player fees, green fees, or tournament buy-ins must be paid on or before the specified deadlines.


• Non-Refundability: Unless explicitly stated otherwise or canceled by league administration, all registration fees, national sanctioning fees, and weekly dues are non-refundable once paid, as they are immediately allocated to league operations, scoring administration, and prize pools.

5. Intellectual Property and Content

• League Data: All schedules, standings, promotional media, custom logos, graphics, and text content on www.thumbareabcapl.com are the intellectual property of the Thumb Area BCA Pool League or its licensors.


• Media Release: By participating in our public events or tournaments, you grant us permission to use your name, team name, statistics, or photographic likeness in league standings, newsletters, and local social media updates for promotional purposes.

6. Limitation of Liability and Waiver

• Assumption of Risk: Participation in a billiards league involves recreational physical activity and travel to various host venues. By joining, you voluntarily assume all inherent risks of injury, illness, or property damage.


• Waiver: You release and hold harmless the Thumb Area BCA Pool League, its coordinators, league operators, and host venues from any and all claims of liability arising out of personal injury or property loss during league-related events.

7. Termination of Membership

We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to suspend or terminate any player's or team's membership, access to the website, or participation in events for violations of this Agreement, non-payment of dues, or conduct detrimental to the league.

8. Governing Law

This Agreement is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any legal disputes arising out of this agreement must be resolved in the appropriate courts of Michigan.

9. Modifications to Terms

League administration reserves the right to modify these terms and league-specific operational rules at any time. Changes will take effect immediately upon being posted on
